Rev. Lou Ellen Hartley

Senior Pastor

Lou Ellen Hartley has served the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) since 1996 and has been in ordained ministry since 2000. Born in Oklahoma and raised in Colorado, she began in camp and conference ministry and as a director of Christian Education before answering the call to pastoral ministry, serving congregations in Illinois, Georgia, Minnesota, Missouri, and Florida. She earned her Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and is completing a Doctor of Ministry at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. She and her husband, Brett, a middle school special education teacher, have been married 17 years; she enjoys quilting, junk journaling, reading, biking, baseball games, and time with family and friends.

Scott Graule

Parish Associate

A New Jersey native and Navy veteran, Scott Graule came to ministry later in life and is the first to say so. He served aboard the USS Frank Cable, including in Charleston during Hurricane Hugo, retired as a Hospital Corpsman, and settled on James Island in 2007. He ran Anchor Dental Lab and served as Executive Director of James Island Outreach, the local food and assistance ministry. Scott joined Harbor View as Parish Associate in 2023, graduated from the South Carolina Lay School of Theology, and was installed as a Commissioned Lay Pastor in 2024, now serving the congregation he fondly calls 'small but mighty.' He also serves as a hospital chaplain and has gone on mission from Costa Rica to flood relief in the North Carolina mountains. He and his wife, Pam, have three daughters and four grandchildren. Music has filled Scott's life since childhood, when his home was full of records and the sound of his mother at the piano. He still plays drums and percussion on many Sundays, even on the mornings he is also preaching and serving the congregation. A lover of nature, birds, and animals, Scott is happiest outdoors, whether hiking or walking Folly Beach, and he also enjoys stargazing, the occasional backpacking trip or pickleball game, and a well-timed joke. He is famous around the church for the best breakfast on James Island.

Dr. Anna Holley

Director of Music

Dr. Anna S. Holley is a professional musician and performing-arts instructor with a Doctorate in Music Education. A pianist and vocalist, she has served in music ministry her whole life and uses her gifts for God's glory.

ECEP Director

Janice has guided our Early Care & Education Program for many years, always working to make it one of the best programs in the area and caring deeply for its teachers and children.

Margie Wilkerson

Church Administrator

Our administrator since June 2022, Margie grew up attending church in Virginia and has brought efficiency and energy to the role. She is mom to two energetic boys.
